CUMULUS MEDIA | Corporate, a leader in the radio broadcasting industry, has an immediate opening for a full timeBroadcast Systems Specialist. This role is responsible for providing tier-3 support for our streaming and broadcast systems. This includes, but is not limited to, radio station automation and routing systems, streaming systems, and podcasting software. This position works directly with corporate and local technical staffs to triage and address issues.

Responsibilities

  • Assist local technical staff in troubleshooting broadcast automation and streaming systems
  • Work with technical staff and vendors to build and rollout new streams/podcasting systems
  • Spot-check streams to ensure proper operation
  • Coordinate software upgrades with streaming and smart speaker vendors
  • Monitor help desk ticketing system and assist with trouble tickets

Job Requirements
Qualifications:
  • At least 3 years of experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Interact with management and staff at all levels
  • Skills in prioritizing; ability to multi-task with firm deadlines
  • Problem-solving super sleuth who can work independently with little oversight
  • Proficiency in networking for high-availability IGMP/multicast environments (Cisco, Dell)
  • Knowledge of VoIP (SIP/RTP)
  • Familiarity with radio automation systems (WideOrbit, Prophet, Zetta, OpX)
  • Experience with cluster-wide audio routing, digital audio delivery, EAS, studio telephone (Telos Axia/Livewire, Telos VX, WheatNet, SAS Rio Bravo/Nucleus, Sage ENDEC)
  • Computer literacy in applicable software packages (Microsoft O365, Windows, Linux)
  • Working knowledge of how streaming ad servers work, digital audio editing, as well as analog and digital audio signal/workflows
  • Familiarity with streaming protocols and metadata delivery (Shoutcast, HLS, FLV containers)
  • Specific knowledge of Triton Digital streams and Omny podcasting platform a plus
  • Must be able to travel for large projects
  • Occasional overnight/weekend work
  • May be required to lift 50 pounds
  • May be required to climb a ladder
