Position Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university OR 4 years of relevant experience
  • Bilingual in Korean
  • 4 years of experience in Consumer/Business development in Retail or Financial Sales
  • 2 years of experience in Financial Services OR completion of a Bank Management Training Program
  • 1 year of experience utilizing Microsoft Office Products including, Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Job Description

Market Segment Specialist, Retail Banking, Bilingual in Korean
The Market Segment Specialist (MSS) role will be responsible for contributing to the overall success of a Retail Banking Center by committing to banker readiness, conducting marketing activities leading to revenue growth in loans, deposits and noninterest income, contributing to a successful customer centric experience, proactively managing disciplined operational risk activities as directed. The primary role will be to focus on a market segment as specifically outlined by management. This role will be an individual contributor and is not assigned as a management authority in any capacity.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develops and implements an individual business plan for growing an assigned portfolio of clients within the assigned market segment.
  • Participates in the acquisition of consumer and business clients through the effective use of targeted leads, self-sourcing new business and managing referral source relationships, and attracting new customers to Comerica.
  • Provides effective New Customer Onboarding and Customer Engagement by routinely strengthening new and current customer relationships, introducing new and existing customers to Comerica's products and services, addressing customer questions, e.g., how-to use products and services and follows-up on a timely basis.
  • Supports Portfolio Management efforts to retain, expand and increase the number of portfolio customers in the Banking Center, with emphasis on assigned segment specialty.
  • Executes and positively impacts the proactive marketing activities for the attraction, expansion and retention of customers with primary focus on segment assigned specialty.
  • Completes assigned Daily Plan activities, as directed by manager.
  • Impact revenue growth of the Banking Center with trackable actions and measurable results.
  • Other duties as assigned, as deemed appropriate by banking center manager/assistant manager.

Operational Risk

  • Positively Impacts the operational and risk activity and related results for the Market Segment role when opening accounts/loans and servicing the customer.
  • Ensures compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations; and Comerica policies and procedures.
  • Completes necessary compliance related training within deadlines.
  • Controls losses by following policies and procedures.
  • Submits transactions within authority to a CSR for processing.
  • Other duties as assigned, as deemed appropriate by banking center manager/assistant manager.
  • Able to Approach First, Assess Needs, Add Value and Appreciate (4As) customers and prospects by utilizing the customer centric sales tools available. Consistently demonstrates the 4A's standards.

Customer Experience

  • Skillfully manages challenging customer situations.
  • Remains current, seeks to learn about new products, services, technologies and customer service tactics.
  • Educates and fulfills customer requests, routine and complex.
  • Resolves complex customer complaints with the market segment.
  • Contributes to a positive team environment by actively participating in meetings.
  • Positively impacts the customer experience by assisting others using defined customer experience guidelines and other customer experience behaviors receiving feedback openly as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned, as deemed appropriate by banking center manager/assistant manager.

Partnership Activities

  • Engages in positive partnering by working proactively to build collaborative relationships with members of the immediate assigned banking center and within the International Department to enhance portfolio, pipeline and customer experience.
  • Develops a relationship with the partner to support business development.
  • Proactively identifies opportunities to add value to customers by introducing them to partners.
  • Collaborates with the International Department, to grow Retail Bank relationships through in person calling and referrals.
  • Other duties as assigned, as deemed appropriate by banking center manager/assistant manager.

Work Hours

8:30am-5:30pm Monday-Thursday; Friday 8:15am-6:00pm
