Location: Loudoun Valley Estates, VA
Description: The Data Architect will be in charge of organizing, designing and architecting the data and data models needed to enable the development of Digital Twin data products across the organization. Data Architects will work in concert with Product Managers, aligning data management practices to fit data standards as prioritized by Data Governance and Architecture leadership.
MUST HAVE SKILLS (Most Important): • Strong background in end to end technology and data architecture leveraging Big Data technologies, demonstrate the skill to build both logical and physical architectures • Strong design experience with batch and streaming application and data management services like identify management, master data management, data catalogs etc. • Strong data modeling skills (conceptual and logical) and experience developing data models in software (e.g. Erwin) - Experience working with industry-standard data architecture frameworks (e.g. TOGAF) • Strong product development capabilities • Strong leadership experience in an enterprise or cross-functional role • Delivery capability and vision in technology • Experience architecting Digital Twin data products • Familiarity with project management tools (e.g. Jira) DESIRED SKILLS: • Network knowledge • Experience building data products for commercial purposes • Technology thought leadership (conference talks, white papers etc) JOB DUTIES: • Engage and manage key stakeholders • Collaborate with relevant business and technical stakeholders, both within DG&A and business units, to outline data architecture principles and requirements for Digital Twin data products • Outline and communicate a standard process for developing Digital Twin architectures and data models • Articulate and syndicate trade-offs and considerations related to data architecture design decisions Design digital twin data architectures • Organize and inventory relevant data requirements, existing data attributes, and data sources needed for data product development • Develop baseline reference architectures and models that can be leveraged as a template to accelerate development of Digital Twin data architectures • Design customized data models and schemas that can fit multiple business use cases and be leveraged by multiple core technical stacks (e.g. SQL) • Work with Data Governance to adjust and implement systems that reflect the appropriate standards, policies, and procedures as outlined Organize and ensure appropriate technical documentation • Collaborate with stakeholders across DG&A, including Product Managers and Data Modelers, to document data requirements across systems - Assist in maintaining an enterprise data catalog to consolidate information pertaining to data lineage, quality, and metadata for critical data elements across models utilized by core business customers EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS: 4+ years in enterprise data and technology architecture Demonstrated excellence in end-to-end data product development and product lifecycle management Product development and/or project management experience preferred
