As the Benefits Manager - Retirement & Leaves the incumbent will be responsible for ensuring the benefits programs are aligned to attract, retain and motivate talent, and to help achieve its business goals and vision. The role reports to the Director of Benefits.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Recommends design, manages implementation and administration of retirement plans, as well as leave administration and other financial benefits (e.g., defined contribution plan, leave management, tuition reimbursement and employee discounts).
  • Manages the implementation and execution of the company benefits strategy, budget, contracts, projects, legal requirements, and processing and system improvements.
  • Manages the integration of benefits for M&A activity and strategizes on best practices to support seamless transitions.
  • Analyzes market trends, design concepts and benchmarks programs to identify streamlining opportunities and cost/value improvements.
  • Works closely with benefit consultants and record keeper to manage plan design, vendor relations, service requirements, negotiations and selections to meet the various needs of a benefits plan.
  • Manages full cycle of on-going enrollment for retirement plan education and support (design, implement, schedules and leads employee meetings, and oversees the employee deferral and loan repayments).
  • Manages the company's leave administration, tuition reimbursement and employee discount program (administration, communications) and partners with Finance on investment strategies.
  • Manages the oversight of the ticketing system for related employee inquiries under defined responsibilities.
  • Remains up-to-date on regulatory requirements.
  • Manages the Company's benefit plans with proper financial controls, accurate records, and compliant procedures (including leading the annual audit of the plans).
  • Maintains awareness of the company's health and welfare, well-being and employee assistance programs to support and collaborate on department needs.
  • Manages the maintenance of the systems used to support the benefits operations, working closely with the HRIS and Payroll teams, and third party administrators.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Strong aptitude for understanding business needs and creating programs to meet those business objectives
  • Effective change management
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, advance computer skills, especially with MS Excel.
  • Detail oriented
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and work within a rapidly changing environment
  • Self-starter with a high level of persistence and strong results focus
  • Demonstrated strong collaboration and project management skills
Education and Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a dedicated HR role, with at least 5 years focused primarily on Benefits, certification is a plus
  • BA/BS degree required
  • Must be well-versed in Benefits and regulatory requirements across the US, with experience working in a multi-state environment
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
