Team Overview

The goal of the Impact and Learning department is the proactive provisioning and stewardship of insightful data to harness the power of knowledge, refine our Program Model, transform our organization, and empower the communities we serve.

The Team's Core Activities include:

• Foster a culture of learning, curiosity, accountability, and continuous improvement by providing proactive data insights and analysis to inform decision-making across all altitudes of the organization

• Help refine and enhance the LifeMoves Program Model through data analysis and insights (e.g., dashboards, reports, data visualizations)

• Oversee the data experience at LifeMoves - the collection, quality, analysis, visualization, and utilization of data

• Provide insightful data that informs marketing, communications, and fundraising efforts

• Timely reporting to ensure consistent revenue in support of the LifeMoves mission

• Development and administration of internal database and business intelligence systems, like Voyager and Tableau

• Support new and existing staff through ongoing training that increases staff productivity and efficiency while improving workload management.

Position Overview

The Associate Vice President of Impact and Learning is a seasoned and results-oriented professional who

holds LifeMoves' vision to use data to manage performance, improve programs and increase overall impact. The Associate Vice President oversees efforts to measure, analyze, and report on client success, and provides vision and thought partnership to the Senior Leadership Team, Program Directors, Development Marketing and Communications, and the Board of Directors to effectively set goals and ensure the organization meets strategic milestones. The AVP serves as the organization's external lead for the presentation and dissemination of findings, innovations and knowledge gained from the implementation of evaluation and performance management activities within the organization. Specifically, this means working with the Development and Marketing and Communications team to effectively position LifeMoves' impact against national and regional performance standards. This position is also charged with executing against the vision for impact at LifeMoves, driving and improving the organization's existing program model, and proactively providing data and analysis that helps the organization manage the performance of clients, service delivery, and staff. This is an outstanding opportunity to assume a prominent leadership role in supporting more of our unhoused neighbors return to stable housing and self-sufficiency; to work with a seasoned leadership team, and a committed board to shape the strategic direction and development of a leading non-profit.

Primary Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the Chief Program Officer, and serving as a key advisor to the Senior Leadership Team, the Associate Vice President of Impact and Learning provides the vision and leadership to allow LifeMoves to effectively monitor, grow and contextualize its impact. The AVP plays a central role in strengthening the outcomes of programs, providing direction and expertise on measurement, ensuring data is collected accurately and efficiently, ensuring program implementation meets fidelity and accountability standards, and maintaining a strong adherence to LifeMoves' data and evidence based culture of learning and continuous improvement.

Additional responsibilities of the Associate Vice President of Impact and Learning will include, but may not be limited to:

Leadership and Vision

• Collaborates with the Senior Leadership Team and regional leaders to establish operational goals that allow the organization to effectively execute against strategic vision

• Oversees the timely and accurate dissemination of data analyses and informative trends with the goal of creating cohesion and alignment on program fidelity and intended impact across programs

• Works closely with the Chief Program Officer to effectively analyze, disseminate and communicate about the trends and impact within LifeMoves

• Provides vision, leadership and operational guidance to the Impact + Learning team

• Oversees the annual development of a learning agenda, incorporating respective department priorities and annual goals to ensure alignment with strategic vision

• Advises the organization of relevant issues and trends within the homeless prevention space

Impact and Reporting

• Leads implementation of the effective use of data and evaluation functions to demonstrate program effectiveness and refine program implementation

• Designs, facilitates and supports routine practices and training to promote and ensure the use of data to improve program implementation, modifications, accountability and outcomes across the organization and program sites

• Develops, manages and refines data collection, analyses and reporting methods for use across programs and the organization, including for direct service staff, management and executive teams, Development, Marketing and Communications, and for the Board of Directors

• Sets standards and manages the analyses, preparation and dissemination of internal reports around program and client progress to support the organization's annual performance evaluations

• Establishes and implements comprehensive standards, policies, procedures and training to support efficient, accurate and timely data tracking and to ensure data quality and integrity, including reliability and validity

• Oversees the design and maintenance of the organization's performance management database, as well as manage all upgrades and enhancements to the database

Communication and Evaluation

• Coordinates and supports external evaluators and consultants to prepare for and implement evaluations to study program fidelity and student impact

• Represents LifeMoves in the larger impact and evaluation community (i.e., presenting at conferences, delivering key findings to external stakeholders, publishing white papers)

Position Qualifications

Skills and Experience Required

First and foremost, the Associate Vice President of Impact and Learning must embrace the LifeMoves vision of thriving communities where every neighbor has a home. Additionally, candidates for the position must bring the following qualifications and qualities:

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business or equivalent work experience

• Experience handling large datasets and developing quality control mechanisms to guarantee strong data quality and high data utilization across the organization

• Experience building end-to-end analytics reporting pipelines, data modeling, ETL, validation, analysis, visualization and dashboarding

• Experience collecting and communicating program data for foundations, corporations, government entities and individual philanthropists

• Strong leader with five years or more of demonstrated experience leading teams of diverse skill sets, and the ability to support and mentor colleagues

• Demonstrated ability to define and implement measurement systems from conceptual, to prototype, to implementation, gathering and processing feedback along the way and ensuring long-term adoption of the new system

• Productive, collaborative member of a leadership team able to contribute to crisp decision-making and uphold the organization's culture of accountability

• A highly collaborative work style to work effectively across all organizational altitudes

• The ability to mentor and motivate those around you

• Superior analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $125-175,000 annually. We also have a comprehensive benefits package to offer you, which includes Medical, Dental, Vision, Flex Spending Account, Dependent Care Reimbursement Account, Long-Term Disability, Life Insurance, 401K, etc.
