The Insights and Analytics (I&A) Business Analyst performs various planning, delivery and communication activities that inspire change in AstraZeneca's business processes! This IT role can act as a team member in large-scale/global efforts or direct market-specific changes as a sole PM/BA hybrid. The I&A Business Analyst operates with interactive communication and tight collaboration with business and other IT team members, demonstrating inclusion and cultural sensitivity!

The IT business analyst partners with the Business Relationship Manager or Business Analyst colleagues to support the development of business cases, assists in business process design and ensures that proposed solutions meet established AstraZeneca quality and compliance standards and business solution needs.

The I&A Business Analyst is encouraged to perform at a capable level in the following IT activities:

Business Needs Identification - Assesses and defines business need and areas for improvement. Proactively seeks out opportunities for improvement in line with strategic goals and enterprise architecture solutions. Proposes potential solutions through research. Chips in to proofs-of-concept for new technology and business process change. Becomes IT specialist in specific business processes through delivery of IT initiatives and business process changes.

Identifies and communicates conflicts between various business processes

Business Analysis Planning - Selects the appropriate analysis approach to a piece of work depending on its complexity, level of risk, known assumptions, constraints and dependencies. Proficient in prioritization and estimating analysis approaches. Capable of planning and leading activities to meet deliverables and deadlines. In larger efforts, provides analysis plan to a project manager for inclusion in an overall project plan.

Stakeholder Analysis - Effectively identifies stakeholders and their engagement level for IT initiatives. Collaborates with Business Relationship Manager to build and maintain relationships according to individual stakeholder needs and levels of influence.

Change Management - Collaborates with a Change Lead in larger efforts. Chips in to communication plans and change management for project and stakeholders. Conveys targeted business outcomes to various IT delivery and support teams as part of knowledge transfer activities.

Requirements Analysis - Responsible for requirements management plans including elicitation, approvals, processes, RAID and scope impacts. Able to craft complete user stories highlighting the appropriate business outcomes. Skilled in traceability, testing and validation. Works with business colleagues (i.e. Product Owner) to identify functional, technical and performance requirements.

Solution Evaluation - Analyzes and assesses solution proposals and able to articulate supporting reasoning. i.e. assessing business readiness, improving value vs. spend.

Design Contribution - Translates the requirements into design specifications reflecting Functional Design, User Interface Design and Business Process Design. Closely partnering with the Architecture team, ensuring the technical solution will deliver the agreed business benefits.

Overall Solution Testing - Work collaboratively with an assigned test lead for larger efforts. For smaller efforts, the business analyst can lead the development of the test approach and test traceability to all requirements.

User Acceptance Testing - Support or facilitate acceptance testing for all sizes of effort. Provides a clear understanding of requirements and goals to the audience in order to produce effective testing of the solution. Develops test plans that confirms the solution is fit for purpose.

Additional Subject Matter Experience
The I&A business analyst deals with business intelligence tools and pharmaceutical industry data/processes daily. Experience in current business intelligence tools, big data patterns, pharmaceutical industry data and/or managed care processes is a plus.

Education requirements:
Bachelor's degree in relevant field or formal certification in business analysis practice is helpful but not required.
