Summary of Duties

The Assistant Teacher at the Early Learning Center is responsible for assisting a Lead Teacher in the general supervision and management of the classroom to which s/he is assigned.

Duties & Responsibilities

Assisting the Lead Teacher in planning and implementing the daily programs under the leadership of the Lead Teacher.

Assisting in planning and preparing the learning environment and preparing needed materials and supplies.

Supervising the classroom when the Lead Teacher is out of the room.

Helping with general housekeeping tasks.

Assisting the Lead Teacher in any other appropriate ways.

Maintaining a professional attitude and loyalty to the Center at all times.

Treating all children with dignity and respect.

Attending all staff meetings and required training sessions.

Perform other similar duties as assigned.

Position is for 30-35 hours per week.

Experience, Skills & Abilities

Individual must be at least eighteen (18) years of age with a warm and friendly personality, be sensitive to the feelings and needs of others, be able to relate well to children, and be willing to fulfill responsibilities in accordance with the Early Learning Center philosophy.

Education & Certifications

Required:
High school degree and meet all requirements of the State of Ohio licensing requirements.

Preferred:
Associate degree is preferred.
