Position Summary

The role involves participating in research grant proposals within the Department of Forestry as required. The position's initial focus will be on a multidisciplinary, multi-institutional US Forest Service proposal for which incumbent will be expected to contribute as a principal investigator. The incumbent will also have the opportunity to provide guest lectures and seminars and assist with developing the curriculum for specialized forest economics courses.

Required Degree

Doctorate -Forestry, forest economics or related

Minimum Requirements

PhD in Forestry, Forest Economics or a related field is required, along with at least 5 years of professional experience with regional or state forest management and input-output analysis. Applicants should have a background in forest economics, forest policy and forest management programs.

Desired Qualifications

Experience working with state forest management agencies is desirable.

Work Hours

Hours will be variable as needed to accomplish the tasks included in the Statement of Work submitted as part of sponsored projects, or as needed to accomplish creative endeavors related to designing course curriculum and guest speaking engagements.
