Department The Measurement & Statistics (M&S) program in the Department of Educational Psychology and Learning Systems at the Florida State University (FSU) is seeking qualified applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position. The M&S program prepares leaders in educational research to serve in various types of professional positions related to collecting, analyzing, and interpreting educational statistics - as future professors of measurement and statistics at colleges and universities; psychometricians in commercial testing firms; educational-measurement and/or educational-statistics specialists employed by test publishers, regional educational laboratories, or governmental licensing, certification, or assessment units, and directors of measurement activities for schools and school systems. The program currently offers Master of Science (both online and face-to-face) and PhD degrees, as well as a graduate certificate in Measurement & Statistics. The M&S program also serves the College of Education and Florida State University by teaching a series of graduate statistics courses for students from various disciplines. Responsibilities The successful candidate will be required to:
    Maintain a robust program of research in applied measurement, including publishing in top-tier journalsDevelop and teach graduate-level courses in online, face-to-face, and blended learning environmentsMentor graduate students and advise doctoral dissertations Pursue funding opportunitiesPlay an integral role in collaborating with colleagues, students, and alumni to maintain a strong program community and identityProvide leadership and service to the program, department, college, and profession
Qualifications Candidates for this position are required to have an earned doctorate in Educational Measurement, Educational Assessment, Quantitative Methods, Psychometrics, or closely related field from an accredited university. The successful candidate should have a clearly articulated research focus with a record of peer-reviewed publications, presentations, and grant activities, as appropriate to time in field. The ideal candidate should have experience teaching in online, blended and/or face-to-face settings and should be adept at teaching and designing instruction using a wide variety of learning technologies. ABD candidates can be considered if they will have their degree conferred no later than August 2023.Preferred Preference will be given to candidates with:
    Ability to teach courses in the following areas: classical test theory, item response theory, scaling and equating, and large-scale assessment Demonstrated scholarship in item response theory, computerized adaptive testing, standard setting, scaling and equating, and/or diagnostic assessmentExperience teaching a diverse and international student body
