Position Summary: The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry in the Charles E. Schmidt College of Science at Florida Atlantic University, Boca Raton, FL, invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in analytical chemistry, starting in the Fall 2022. The successful candidate is expected to establish an independent, nationally and internationally recognized extramurally funded research program in his/her area of expertise. There are multiple opportunities for collaboration in the department and at various interdisciplinary programs across the university. The department is particularly interested in research areas including but not limited to bioanalytical chemistry, toxicology and pharmacology. In addition to establishing a productive research program, the successful candidate is also expected to engage in scholarly activity related to teaching, including mentoring undergraduate and graduate students, and teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in analytical chemistry.
Minimum Qualifications:Ph.D. degree from an accredited institution in analytical chemistry or a closely related discipline is preferred at time of application.
Postdoctoral experience is highly desirable.
Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills are required.
