Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to develop/continue an independent line of research as indicated by a strong record of publications and extramural funding (commensurate with their rank) and to participate in teaching medical students. Candidates will also be expected to collaborate with other faculty in BSSM on behavioral science research as a biostatistics and methodological co-investigator for a percentage of their effort. Faculty in BSSM have ongoing research programs related to health equity, maternal-child and lifespan health, mental health and substance use (including clinical devise development), cognitive aging and neurodevelopmental disorders as well as chronic conditions and infectious diseases such as HIV. Our department seeks candidates whose work aligns with the College of Medicine mission, which emphasizes patient-centered care for the underserved and community-engaged research. As a community-based medical school, the FSU College of Medicine is particularly well-suited for conducting research in primary care and community settings.

Qualifications

PhD in Biostatistics or equivalent field from an accredited institution with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service.

Preferred

Candidates who study minority and/or medically underserved populations are especially encouraged to apply.
