Reporting to the Senior Associate Director, Enrollment Marketing Manager, the Assistant Director of Enrollment Marketing is responsible for the development, execution, and monitoring of comprehensive integrated marketing and communications strategies to help achieve the enrollment and recruitment goals of the Office of Undergraduate Admission. In collaboration with the Senior Associate Director, the Assistant Director manages a variety of projects, with a focus on marketing plans, communications, and social media. The Assistant Director of Enrollment Marketing maintains a modern and comprehensive communication plan, utilizing online resources as a dynamic and engaging communication platform, staying current on all communication trends and technologies.

Communication Plan Management

  • Assist the Senior Associate Director in and creating and executing a comprehensive communication plan with differentiated messaging to multiple populations using various formats including, but not limited to, email, letters, publications, postcards, text messages, and social media.
  • Under the supervision of the Senior Associate Director, manage and execute communication plans for assigned populations.
  • Coordinate the creation and launching of communications, ensuring all marketing messages are launched to the appropriate population, from the CRM database, at the appropriate time.
  • Research and implement new CRM features to maximize efficiency when creating communications.
  • Monitor and report on the success of multi-channel communication plans and analyze the effectiveness of campaigns.
  • Work in close collaboration with the Enrollment and Marketing staffs, as well as third party contractors when applicable, to support asset creation for campaigns and projects.
  • Coordinate with the Marketing team on production schedules, mailing details, and collaboration with external printers.
  • Ensure development and timely execution of action-based and process-oriented communication plans.
  • Meet regularly with the Senior Associate Director to assess current marketing campaigns, as well as plan for future campaigns.

New Media Communications

  • Research, propose, and launch innovative, interactive, and digital content strategies to reach target audiences.
  • Manage, create, and post social media content.
  • Track and analyze success and trends related to social media content.
  • Produce, edit, update, and post content for Undergraduate Admission webpages, using a Drupal-based content management system.

Territory Management

  • Plan and execute fall and spring recruitment for a small assigned territories.
  • Run reports and analyze data to plan a strategic recruitment effort including high school visits, college fairs, visits to CBOs, meetings with independent counselors, and regional events.
  • Serve as the primary contact for prospective students and families, as well as counselors from assigned territories.
  • Read applications from assigned territories, recommend admission decisions in accordance with established policies and guidelines, present at admission committee, and perform follow-up communication with applicants from assigned territories.

Content Creation

  • Produce compelling, succinct content to reach a variety of target audiences and channels.
  • Develop key messaging and content for enrollment materials and communications, both in print and electronically.

Video

  • Produce, edit, and publish videos for use in email, text, web, and social media communications.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and free lancers, as appropriate, on enrollment video projects.
  • Write scripts and storyboards for the preparation of a video project, and identify, schedule, and prep subjects.

University Representation

  • Present on and off-campus informational sessions to groups of various sizes.
  • Present on Admission and other University-related topics to various constituencies, as assigned.
  • Participate in University committees, as assigned.
  • Read applications from assigned territories, recommend admission decisions in accordance with established policies and guidelines.
  • Present at Admission Committee, and perform follow-up communication with applicants from assigned territories.
  • Collaborate with University Faculty and Staff as it relates to Admission events, application review, and admission communications.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline.
  • Minimum three years of experience in writing, creating, and executing multi-channel marketing communication plans.
  • Strong project and time management skills.
  • Ability to write concise and creative communications for varied audiences.
  • Understanding of best practices for websites as marketing and communication platforms.
  • Familiarity with video best practices.
  • Superior writing, spelling, proofing, and grammar skills, and specifically marketing-focused writing.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the willingness and ability to work in a change-oriented environment.
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate multiple work assignments independently, with a demonstrated ability to work as part of a team toward organizational objectives and goals.
  • Experience with marketing and communication channels (website, social media, advertising).
  • Ability or willingness to create authentic short videos to support the admission and aid process.
  • Experience in reviewing marketing analytics and metrics and adjusting plans accordingly.
  • Experience leveraging multiple marketing channels in a coordinated way.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (O365), Adobe Creative Suite products, and CRM system functionality.
  • Must be a highly organized, detail-oriented individual who can prioritize independently and manage multiple tasks at once.
  • Willingness to work occasional evenings and/or weekends as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in communication, public relations, journalism, marketing, or related field.
  • Experience with website content development and usability.
  • Related experience with content management software such as Drupal, HTML and experience managing webpages.
  • Experience in any aspects of the writing, creating, and executing of multi-channel marketing communication plans.
  • Experience creating, executing, and managing communication plans within Slate, or similar CRM.
  • Knowledge of advertising metrics and tracking and ability to analyze results and data from campaigns and present key findings, takeaways and recommendations moving forward.
  • Experience with simple video shooting and editing.
  • Proven experience managing social media platforms.
  • Experience with undergraduate admission recruitment, counseling, and/or application review.
  • Experience with undergraduate admission recruitment, counseling, and/or application review.
