Job Summary

The Senior Assistant Director of Event and Program Marketing is an integral part of the marketing team at the Rustandy Center for Social Sector Innovation. The primary goal of this position is to oversee a range of marketing strategies to achieve the center's goals for events and programs serving Chicago Booth alumni, students, and faculty, as well as social sector practitioners. The Rustandy Center works with organizations of all types: nonprofit, for-profit, and government. The lines separating these institutions are blurring -- with for-profits adopting social missions, and nonprofits recognizing that business skills are needed to scale their efforts. Programs and events will focus on topics like social entrepreneurship, impact investing, nonprofit board governance, and other social impact areas.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees and executes a global event and program marketing strategy and processes to engage key audiences, including email, social media, and more.
  • Oversees and executes organic and paid social media strategy, related to events and programs.
  • Works with Rustandy Center program team and designers to develop and ensure brand consistency and voice across on-brand collateral for events and programs.
  • Identifies content opportunities stemming from events and programs.
  • Drafts and edits event-specific talking points and speeches for Rustandy Center staff.
  • Works closely with other departments and international offices on marketing projects, which may require evening or early morning calls.
  • Oversees maintenance of the events and program-specific pages of the Rustandy Center website.
  • Keeps up to date with the latest in global marketing trends, including emerging social media platforms and tools.
  • Assists with general marketing activities and administration, as well as some day-of event execution.
  • Manages marketing intern.
  • Develops marketing communications, advertising, or publicity materials with a moderate level of guidance from others. Develops, plans, and coordinates the development and production of marketing and publicity materials and campaigns, ensuring deadlines and budgets are met.
  • May train the work of lower level marketing staff.
  • Performs other related work as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:
Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree with a concentration in marketing or communications-related area.

Experience:
  • Marketing experience.
  • Previous experience with diverse and geographically dispersed collaborators.

Technical Skills or Knowledge:
  • Experience with Sprinklr, Marketo, and Sitecore.

Preferred Competencies
  • Exceptional oral and written language skills - particularly copywriting and editing.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of email and content marketing tactics.
  • A creative thinker who is able to set and meet deadlines.

Working Conditions
  • Take calls in the evening or early morning as needed.
