RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce's client, a leading regional construction management firm in Lynbrook, NY is seeking an Assistant Controller.Key Tasks:- Guide employees performing accounting, billing, payables, payroll, general ledger, budgeting, and financial reporting duties
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation, analysis and presentation of financial reports, statements, and tax returns/filings on a weekly/monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
- Direct financial planning and budgeting for assigned entities
- Analyze financial data and build financial models for expected operations to identify development opportunities
- Develop and enforces internal control policies, guidelines, and procedures
- Direct implementation of new financial systems and procedures
- Act as primary liaison for financial audits with external CPA firm, and correspondence with state agencies and other external parties
- Ensure compliance with federal and state contract cost accounting principles and work with various departments to assist providing information
- Review all financial statements and ledgers, and working with the accounting staff to clear up discrepancies
REQUIREMENTS:
- Degree in Accounting
- 5+ years of related construction accounting management experience
- Advanced level Excel skills required including pivot tables, v-lookups
- Experience in managing day-to-day functions and leading accounting personnel
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work with all levels of the organization
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with attention to details and proactive approach
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including excellent presentation skills
- Ability to -think outside the box- while identifying problems and developing creative solutions
- Experience with Sage is preferred
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
