The Division of Intercollegiate Athletics at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign has an opening for an Assistant Coach, Football Creative & Social Content.

STATEMENT OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Recruiting

  • Independently develop, create, produce and update all motivational videos pieces targeting coaches, recruits and current student athletes to help the efforts of recruiting student-athletes for U of I.
  • Create graphics and innovative visuals used to recruit prospective student athletes.
  • Engage with recruits to capture, create, and enhance images around the recruit's interest for social media platform.
  • Assist with the execution of photoshoots of prospective student athletes to enhance their official visit experience.
  • Build and develop student workers that can assist with recruiting graphic and creative video.
  • Collaborate with coaching staff on individual recruits' interest.
  • Manages creative development and deployment of digital, social, mobile and video content for communications and branding initiatives surrounding Illinois football. To catch the attention of recruits and families.
  • Create visual resources engaged through social media for future student-athletes and families.
  • Participate in recruitment goals for the football program.
  • Collaborate as a part of the design team as well as partners across all sports and departments, with the goal of elevating and carrying the visual brand through to all forms of communication, including email, printed materials, packaging, and in-store displays.
  • Develops creative content that enhances revenue streams though fan engagement and experience, brand awareness, advertising and public relations strategies to enhance the recruiting of student - athletes and families.
  • Build and develop student workers that can assist with recruiting graphic and creative video.

Graphics Branding and Engagement
  • Assist with media responsibilities for the design and production of brand objectivies for the Football program, designed to create consistent and innovative solutions by providing conceptual sketches, inspiration gathering, typographic studies, layout design, illustration, logo design, and making revisions and refinements thru project completion.
  • Facilitate engagement in a diverse range of brand marketing projects such as advertisements, catalogs, look books, packaging, digital content, corporate communications and brand identities.
  • Assist in the direction of ideas and concepts with members of the football and DIA creative teams that strengthen and define the Illinois Football Brand.
  • Help design and create external media assets for the football program social media account in conjunction with DIA

Football Video
  • Responsible for all aspects of the production process from start to finish: Conceptualizing, coordinating, writing, shooting, and editing videos for Illinois Football.
  • Collaborate with DIA External on Big Picture Videos for Football.
  • Producing Facility, Practice, In Game Hi-lite Videos.
  • Independently create a fully integrated self-scout report, compiling video clips obtained from practice sessions and in-game play along with written analysis obtained from offensive and defensive coordinators. There are approximately 80 reports prepared each week during the sport season.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education Required: Bachelor's degree in sports administration or related field

Preferred: N/A

Experience Required: One or more years experience working in Power 5 football

Preferred: Three or more years experience working in Power 5 football

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Maintain knowledge of and compliance with specific NCAA, Big Ten Conference, and institution rules as they related to this position is required. Demonstrate the ability to meet short deadlines, have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and work in a team-oriented and fast-paced environment.

SALARY

Salary will be commensurate with experience
