Arizona Admissions Recruiter

Based in Phoenix or Mesa, Arizona, this Admissions Counselor is responsible for representing Southern Utah University (SUU) to multiple constituencies, including prospective students, their families, and school/community contacts. Residing in the region, the counselor develops and implements recruiting initiatives and follow-ups to meet application and enrollment goals. The counselor manages the planning and follow-up of recruitment activities including high school visits, college fairs, and individual meetings with students.

Additionally, this position is a front-line service provider with primary responsibility for student admission counseling, recruitment travel, and management of the assigned geographic areas. The position requires a significant level of independent judgment and autonomy in regard to work planning; local representation of the university to thousands of students, families, counselors, and other key staff at secondary schools and community colleges; expert counseling of students and families; and application of university admission policy through the admission review. Secondary responsibilities include scholarship review and other duties as assigned. This position reports to the Assistant Director of Regional Recruitment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Required to live in the Phoenix/Mesa Area.
2. This position requires an extensive amount of travel, often including locations that are not serviced by public transportation.
3. Must be able to work irregular hours and travel extensively on nights and weekends.
4. Require a valid driver's license.
5. Must be able to lift up to 25 Pounds.

Education and Experience Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree required.
2. Extensive experience with knowledge of personal computers, automated information systems, spreadsheets, and word-processing systems.
3. Ability to work with diverse groups and contribute to a climate of inclusion.
