ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:* Staff Management - Animal Care Support Staff* Patient Management* Client Management* Office Management* Production Management* Records Management* Facility Maintenance and Safety Management* Meetings* Communication with management team, staff and clientsStaff Management:* Oversee Animal Care staff performance* Training, education, developing of staff* Scheduling* Assign job responsibility to each staff member, directing operations and staff* Supervise staff to assure that each job is being effectively handled* Employee policy enforcement* Employee relations and communications* Monitor employee competence and effectiveness* Disciplinary Action Pet Care Management:* Oversee process of admitting, house and discharge pet from pet hotel* Oversee and execute the daily tasks involved in the day-to-day operations of the Animal Care and Day Camp departments* Responsible for administration of medications to boarding animals* Mentor (work with) and ensuring that staff is trained and following VCA standards of quality pet care* Ensure that all boarding animal records are complete and accurateClient Management and Office Management:* Oversee training of all staff in accordance to the principals of the VCA Mission* Statement, Three Steps of Service and VCA Standards of Client Service and that the above is known and practiced by all* Oversee client flow to insure that clients and patients are treated in a professional, timely and competent manner* Oversee compliance with client concerns* Under the Supervision of the Operations Manager, modify and update systems and procedures wherever needed to better serve clients, boarding pets, the pet hotel and employees (i.e., modify schedules for the most productive use of time)* Verify receipt of all inventory and supplies, mark invoices and packing slips received* Ensure that the OSHA and safety program procedures and reports are continuously monitored and submitted monthly, while keeping the pet hotel updated and in safety compliance.* Meet with the management team regularly to discuss, evaluate and plan for the welfare of the Pet Resort* Read and respond to all communication in a timely manner* Ensure the VCA policies, guidelines and recommendations are quickly communicated to the Animal Care and Day Camp Staff Facility Maintenance:* Oversee the maintenance and housekeeping of the pet hotel for cleanliness and organization of both the inside and outside of the building* Monitor janitorial responsibilities QUALIFICATIONS:* Self-starter, organized, able to multi-task in a deadline-driven team environment; adjust to changing priorities* Be extremely detail-oriented* Ability to take direction* Strong leadership and consensus-building skills* Analytical skills to forecast and identify daily operational challenges* Excellent written and verbal communications, presentation and interpersonal skills* Customer service* Human resource skills* Good communication skills, both written and oral* Goal oriented* Background in managing service oriented operations* Ability to plan, organize and effectively present ideas and concepts* Ability to take information obtained from clients, staff, and other sources, determine which are credible and assess the pet hotel and its operation objectively* Be flexible with their schedule and be able to work at least one weekend day and Holidays* High School Diploma* 2-yr Experience in Animal Care, Kennel facility or Veterinary hospital* 1-yr Experience working in a Supervisory or Leadership role* Dependable attendance required* Candidate must work occasional weekends and evenings to attend local events* Must be able to lift 40 pounds* Must be willing to work long or irregular hours under pressure conditions* This position requires the ability to walk, bend, stand and reach constantly during a minimum 8-hour dayBENEFITS:We offer competitive compensation along with a comprehensive benefits package, including, medical/dental/vision and paid vacation (for F/T employees only), 401(k), generous personal pet care discounts and more!
