Purpose

This position will collaborate with Production control team and work with batch scheduling tools ensuring that all the critical business-related jobs are completed as per the schedule.
The analyst will follow established standards and procedures relating to the implementation of test elements into the production environment and resolution of production batch failures.

Responsibilities

Experienced with batch scheduling/workload automation tools such as UC4 (Automation Engine), Autosys, Control-M.
Must be able to prepare and maintain production schedules using automated scheduling software.
Moves test elements into the production environment in a required timeframe.
Schedule off-hours production requests and maintains schedule information.
Uses appropriate software tools to enhance system performance and assists in monitoring the production batch environment.
Assists in developing Production Support standards and procedures.
Ensures adherence of Production Support standards in relation to applications turnovers.
Works independently on assigned projects specialized for Production Support.
Provides technical assistance to applications and computer operations area.
Identifies the root cause and provides permanent resolutions to production failures in appropriate areas.
Assumes department responsibilities in the absence of the Production Control Manager.
Troubleshoot scheduling tool outages with other IT teams, understanding the tool's architecture in the back end.
Work with complex job streams or workflows and be able to identify problems that occur within it.
Must be able to work with Windows, UNIX, and basic scripting knowledge such as bash or batch.
Integration of automation tool with business applications such as SAP, ERP.
Should be able to understand new business requirements and implement it through automation.
Requires problem-solving skills and analytical abilities to troubleshoot issues.
Planning for scheduled system outages.
On-call availability and work on day-to-day operational tasks with incident and change management.
Maintain annual calendar and batch parameters.
Ensure critical batch metrics are met nightly.
Understands compliance and audit requirements and maintains the necessary documentation and evidence.
Ability to respond to queries and document new and existing implementations
Participate in disaster recovery exercises.
Continuous improvement by minimizing job failures or finding more effective solutions to existing processes

Good to have experience:
Experience with FTP/SFTP and encryption and Amazon S3 Bucket.
Knowledge of cloud is a plus.
Optional: Migration experience to Control-M is a plus

Skills and Requirements

Skills/Abilities:
- Good oral, written and communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and manage time, understanding the priorities.
- Willing to learn new tools and processes.

Experience/Training:

Required Education: Associates degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.

- 5 - 7 years of experience within Computer Operations, with 2 years in Production Control.
- Thorough knowledge of Unix/AIX/Wintel Operating systems.
- Thorough knowledge of IBM utilities.
- Knowledge of scripting using UC4, Shell.
- Basic understanding of SAP is required.
