To continue our standard of excellence, Piedmont is seeking a motivated, reliable student to join us as a Benefits Intern. This position supports the Benefits Team and the Leave of Absence team. The successful candidate will be able to multi-task, remain organized, and have experience in a fast-paced work environment. This position reports to the Benefits Manager.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain COVID-19 Vaccination Documentation in Workday
  • Assist Team Members with Benefits Questions
  • Work with payroll to ensure sick and vacation time is paid out correctly
  • Lead the process of digitizing pension files
  • Update Benefits webpage as needed
  • Assist the Leave of Absence team in approving absences

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must be enrolled in an undergraduate program in Human Resources, Benefit Administration, Accounting/Payroll, Retirement Management, or a related field
  • Competency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work a minimum of 15 hours per week
  • Ability to commute to Middletown, PA

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Junior or Senior student preferred
  • Prior work experience, especially in a fast-paced office environment
  • Ability to read and comprehend Collective Bargaining Agreements
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Work Environment:
  • Standard office environment, use of computers and other office equipment
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule if needed
  • Some travel required

Physical Requirements:
  • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds
