Position Title: Adult Clinical Supervisor

Department: Behavioral Health Integration

Reports To: Adult Mobile Crisis Intervention Director

Job Summary:

The Adult Clinical Supervisor provides direct assessment and consultation services to adults in crisis. The Supervisor assesses each person's needs for services and develops a treatment plan that best ensures their safety and optimizes their effective resolution of the crisis. S/he facilitates the person's engagement or re-engagement in behavioral health services through referral to community based services that are consonant with the person's needs and preferences. The Adult Clinical Supervisor works as part of the Boston Community Behavioral Health Center (CBHC) Adult Mobile Crisis Intervention that provides on site assessment and support, as well as mobile capacity to conduct assessments at the person's home, school, or agency in Greater Boston. S/he works as a partner in an integrated urgent care/emergency support services network. Given the nature of crisis services, provision of holiday and weekend coverage are expectations for staff working in this position. This position is exempt.

MSW/MHC Interns as assigned

Other staff as needed

Essential Functions of Position:

  • This individual provides direct assessment and consultation services to children and adults in crisis; develops treatment plans with and for the person in crisis that utilize community based health, behavioral health, and social services that will ameliorate the presenting crisis; and documents all assessments and interventions in accordance with program and Bay Cove standards.
  • Provides coordination of all operational activities ofthe busy Urgent Care Center in the form of clinical and logistical supervision of mobile clinicians, support staff, and interns; assignment and oversight of cases and associated tasks; providingcase consultation services to clinicians operating in the field; ensuring completion of interventions and related case management tasks; facilitating effective communication with other components of emergency services as well as community stakeholders; assisting with the training of new staff and students; acting in accordance with protocols and procedures for the management of the service
  • Sharing of administrative on call in rotation with AMCI Director, YMCI Director, Youth Clinical Supervisor, and Evening Clinical Supervisor (24/7/365 coverage).
  • Working effectively with police, building security, and other law enforcement personnel to ensure staff and client safety.
  • Performs all other duties and projects as assigned by the AMCI Director.
Requirements for the Position:
  • LICSW, LMHC, or other behavioral health category which qualifies as an IndependentlyLicensed Practitioner of the Healing Arts is required. Will consider if within 6 months of licensure with previous crisis experience.
  • At least three years of experience providing services to adults with mental health challenges is required
  • At least one year of supervisory and management experience preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to de-escalate crises in a manner that ensures safety for all involved and provides for the best care and welfare of the person in crisis.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the evaluation process, including presenting problems, social, family, psychiatric, legal, and medical history. Capacity to effectively assess mental status, formulate a plan, and develop and implement an appropriate disposition for all clients.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of varying social and behavioral health services and the nature of the treatment, rehabilitation, and support they offer. Can determine the person's needs for services, refer to the appropriate resource(s), and facilitate the person's engagement in these services.
  • Flexibility to work holidays, evenings and weekends on an as needed basis.
  • Professional writing and verbal communications skills.
  • High degree of personal organization, attention to detail, and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in word processing and other computer functions using Windows, Word, and Google Email and Apps.
  • CPR and First Aid certification required within 3 months of hire.
  • Must have the ability to assess children and adults in their homes and apartments with stairs.
  • Use of personal cellular telephone for work communication.
  • Current State issued valid Driver's License and use of reliable personal vehicle for work related travel

  • A COVID-19 vaccination is a requirement of the position. One COVID-19 shot is acceptable, contingent on the individual receiving the second shot within the allotted time frame.
