Job Description:

As a part of a diverse community of faculty and staff who represent many faith systems and worldviews, Marian University's Ancilla College is seeking an Admissions Counselor. The Admissions Counselor actively engages the Catholic Franciscan mission and identity of Marian University by modeling the Franciscan Sponsorship Values and honoring the legacy of the founding congregation through transformative education, unity in diversity, leadership through service, integrating faith and life, and institutional policies.This person must be self-motivated, a relationship-driven problem solver that recruits and counsels' prospective students and families through the enrollment process. Admissions Counselors are required to be outstanding communicators, effective promoters of Marian University's Ancilla College, and efficient managers of multiple information systems. The Admissions Counselor must be professional, prompt, and personable to visitors, students, parents, local school officials and staff.

Required Qualifications:

Responsibilities include:

  • Actively engage the Catholic Franciscan mission and identity of Marian University by modeling the Franciscan Sponsorship Values, honoring the legacy of the founding congregation, promoting unity in diversity, and integrating the Catholic Franciscan intellectual traditions in courses, programs, and services.
  • Travel to represent Marian University's Ancilla College to high schools, college fairs, businesses, community organizations, libraries, etc
  • Presenting to small and large groups
  • Campus tours and interviews with prospective students
  • Knowledge of financial aid and all educational offerings at Marian University
  • A high level of interaction and sustained relationships with prospective students and families through regular communication via phone, text, email, and supporting communication
  • The ability to interact with prospective students and families of diverse backgrounds
  • Implementing a comprehensive communication plan
  • Review of applications
  • Assisting with the planning and execution of recruiting initiatives
  • Advising students about various programs and courses available at Marian University's Ancilla College and the career opportunities associated with the program
  • Assist with orientation and other events for newly recruited students and guiding them through the various processes involved
  • Professionally representing Marian University's Ancilla College at different college fairs and networking events
  • Add and update student recruitment and admissions data as needed within the student information system
  • Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Minimum Associate degree- Bachelor's degree preferred
  • A valid driver's license without restriction
  • Flexibility to work some evening and weekend hours
