General Summary

The Administrative Coordinator will perform record keeping, bookkeeping, supply requisition/distribution, and scheduling activities for assigned department.

Principal Responsibilities
The Administrative Coordinator:

  1. Performs reception activities including answering phones and greeting internal/external customers, determining the nature of the need or request, securing appropriate resources, and following-up to insure needs are met.
  2. Schedule outpatient appointments
  3. Reviews billing report for errors and informs staff for corrections
  4. Enters referrals for the Day Rehab program. Enters patient demographic and insurance information. Requests additional information when needed.
  5. Call patient/family members to relay schedules and program information
  6. Activates admissions. Receives and reviews documentation to ensure completion
  7. Reviews insurance benefit information to initiate authorization when needed
  8. Submits progress notes to care managers
  9. Advises patient, family members and referral sources on Day Rehab program model
  10. Performs all other duties that may be assigned in the best interest of the Shirley Ryan Ability Lab
