Job Description: 

POSITIONSUMMARY 
The Administrative Assistant in the Office of the Vice President of StudentAffairs (VPSA) provides administrative support to the Student Affairsleadership team. This position offers a wide variety of administrative tasks tosupport and incrementally advance assigned projects toward accomplishing goalsand desired results, including but not limited to areas across the StudentAffairs' leadership team portfolio, subject to management overview andsupervision.

ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

GeneralBusiness Operation Support

Serves as theinitial point of contact and screening for visitor access to the Vice Presidentof Student Affairs Office. Performs responsibilities directly related to themanagement and general business operations of the Student Affairs division,including coordinating correspondence for the Student Affairs leadership team andthe division, coordination of travel, coordination of meetings, reservations,agendas, and meeting minute distribution, supporting division monetary andbudgeting transactions, collaborating with Executive Assistant to establishdivision procedures, maintaining schedules of the leadership team as needed.

Carries outmajor assignments in conducting the operations of the division. Manages capitalequipment, coordinates all information flow directed to the Student Affairsleadership team and the Division, and performs other responsible administrativeresponsibilities on behalf of the division that requires the exercising of independentdiscretion pertaining to matters of significance.

Collaborationand Customer Service
Maintains excellent working relations with the public, students, andinternal contacts as representative of the division. Advises and influences studentson various matters, including students who have been referred to the VicePresident's office. Provides additional training and support to all divisionstaff regarding divisional information, operations, and procedures. Worksassigned schedule, exhibits regular, and predictable attendance, and worksoutside of normal schedule as needed to meet workload demands.

PHYSICALREQUIREMENTS

Vision demands include close, relatively detailed vision whenfocusing on a computer screen. The employee occasionally lifts or exerts a forceof up to 10 pounds when moving files, boxes, and other materials.

MINIMUMQUALIFICATIONS 
An Associate's Degree in a related field and three (3) years of administrative officeexperience.

State Motor Vehicle Operator'sLicense or demonstrable ability to gain access to work site(s).
