The University of Texas at Arlington is seeking a Visual Communication Design/Graphic Design adjunct instructor (part-time) to collaborate within our large award winning program. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Successful candidates will be teaching 1-2 classes per semester at the BFA level. Courses might include according to need and qualifications: Typography, Layout, Branding, Web Design, etc.

Required Qualifications:

The candidate must meet the same professional, experiential, and scholarly preparation requirements as their full-time counterparts teaching in the same discipline. The potential hire should hold a minimum of a BFA in graphic design plus 4-5 years of current full-time design work experience plus 2 years of teaching experience to be considered. Professional Level skills in the following:

  • Knowledge and experience with Macintosh computers and Adobe Creative Suite software applications
  • Excellent typographic skills demonstrated through professional work
  • Knowledge in emerging technologies within the field
  • Strong conceptual and formal design skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:

A master's degree or a minimum of 18 graduate level hours in Visual Communication or Graphic Design plus 2-5 years of work experience and 2-5 years of teaching experience.
