Summary Statement
The City of Boise is seeking passionate and caring individuals to join their Adaptive Recreation Team. As an Adaptive Rec Leader, you will lead programs, camps, and/or events for adults with disabilities at community centers and out in the community. This role assists the supervisor and staff in coordinating safe, fun and appropriate activities. Work is performed using independent judgment and discretion. This position is designated as At-Will
This position requires a schedule that includes Friday evenings
This position is part-time and is not eligible for benefits

Essential Functions
Leads groups of adults with disabilities involved with Boise parks and recreation's adaptive recreation program on pre-established activities and outings in the community such as bowling, sporting events, movies, dinner, dances, etc. Assists supervisor and staff in coordinating safe, fun, and appropriate activities. Will be required to drive a 12-or 15-passenger van to transport participants to/from activities. (50%)
Ensures the safety of the participants while in the community. Properly manages money for group activities in the community. (20%)
Occasionally works one-on-one with individuals with disabilities so they can fully integrate into parks and recreation programs. (10%)
Acts as liaison between parks and recreation and activity destinations. (10%)
