Accounts Receivable Clerk (Automotive)

Our client is seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Clerk to join their team. As an integral part of the finance department, you will play a crucial role in managing financial transactions related to automotive sales and services.

Responsibilities:

Receipts and Reconciliation:

Daily reconciliation of service and parts receipts.

Handling charge cards and ensuring accurate records.

Drafts and Dealer Signatures:

Providing drafts for dealer signatures related to money due from vehicle sales.

Ledger Updates:

Accurate data entry of finalized cash receipts into the accounts receivable ledger.

Collection Action:

Taking appropriate collection action on accounts older than 30 days.

Cash Control Sheet:

Preparing daily cash deposits and maintaining the cash control sheet.

Credit Applications:

Researching credit applications and ensuring compliance with credit policies.

Chargebacks and Bad Checks:

Managing chargebacks, returns, and handling bad checks.

Fuel Credits and Reconciliation:

Posting fuel credits and reconciling the fuel schedule.

Customer Service:

Answering accounts receivable calls, updating customer account information, and maintaining a monthly holdback list.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Additional coursework in accounting or finance preferred.

Experience:

Prior experience in accounts receivable, preferably within the automotive industry.

Familiarity with automotive finance processes.

Skills:

Strong understanding of basic accounting principles.

Proficiency in financial record-keeping and data entry.
