RESPONSIBILITIES:

A Kforce client is seeking to hire an Accounting Associate in New York City, New York (NY).Summary:The Accounting Associate will be an integral part of the coordination and oversight of the day-to-day management and investment related activities of portfolio assets. This is a unique position which allows the team member to navigate accounting, financial, tax, legal, and operational issues, while expanding upon their accounting knowledge base. Additionally, the role provides the opportunity to gain valuable project management experience as well as managerial skills through overseeing the workflows and responsibilities of the company bookkeeper and external fund administration team.Responsibilities include:
  • Accounting Associate is responsible for treasury functions including accounts payable, investor distributions, bank account reconciliations, and general ledger activity
  • Capital budgeting and cost tracking for prospective and active development projects
  • Coordination with fund administration team on quarterly financial packages, investor capital statements, capital call and distribution notices, management fee calculations, and expense allocations
  • Accounting Associate works on cash management and budgeting across all company management entities, funds, and individual investments
  • Recording accounting journal entries for different investment stages - acquisition, loan closing, disposition
  • Accounting Associate will be responsible for the preparation of workpapers for audited financial statements and annual tax returns
  • Proactively strategize systematic improvements to accounting systems in place


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • CPA preferred
  • 3-5+ years of experience working in public accounting
  • Knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Strong computer skills with experience using Microsoft Office and specialized accounting software
  • Ability to work autonomously, be proactive, multi-task and thrive in an entrepreneurial setting
  • Strict attention to detail, strong work ethic, integrity, and ability to take direction
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Real estate experience is a plus


The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.

Note: Pay is not considered compensation until it is earned, vested and determinable. The amount and availability of any compensation remains in Kforce's sole discretion unless and until paid and may be modified in its discretion consistent with the law.
