This integral member of the NPD team will report directly to an Account Manager in the Retail Business Group.

As a crucial member of the Retail Business Group, the Account Specialist will be accountable for growing NPD's relationship within a group of multi-industry fashion retail clients by providing them with insights through analyzing NPD's unique data sets to inform their business decisions. This job is for you if you are someone with both people skills and analytical skills. The primary function will be a mix of direct account management as well as account support. This is a client-facing position which requires the ability to work in a team setting.

Overall Responsibilities:

  • Manage NPD's relationships with several retailers through day-to-day servicing of the clients
  • Managing day to day client activities may include sharing analyses & insights, answering relevant client questions, presenting insights, training/educating clients to drive adoption and entanglement of NPD's strategic data sets
  • Provide support to manager/s on strategic accounts through conducting data analysis, building reports, developing presentations, and through other administrative tasks
  • Leverage Point of Sale (POS), consumer survey data, and other NPD data assets to design, prepare and deliver concise, actionable presentations with direction from your supervisor
  • Work with client contacts and internal NPD teams to integrate our data into the retailer's decision-making processes
  • Accurately interpret data and clearly articulate findings to both internal and external audiences
  • Partner with internal cross-functional departments in both client work and internal assignments
  • Assist in tracking and delivering measurable business results from the retailer's use of NPD data
  • Understand our retail clients' organizations and their business strategies, objectives, and challenges
  • Build knowledge of various retail industries and share internally at NPD and externally with the client


Qualifications:
  • 2-4+ years in client service, analyst role, retail inventory planning, merchant analyst, retail buyer, market research, POS or Consumer data or equivalent. Category Management or Key Account experiences within a manufacturer or retailer a plus
  • Able to set priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, multitasking environment
  • Very strong oral and written communication skills; Confident in presenting to groups
  • Proven success and high comfort level in mining and analyzing data
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Must be extremely detail oriented with a focus on accuracy and formatting in deliverables
  • Expert in all MS Office products (Strong Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams).
  • Knowledge of NPD proprietary software or work with other database platforms is a plus
  • Knowledge of, and passion for, Retail and/or Fashion industries is a plus
  • Travel (
