Position Overview

The Office Supplies Practice at NPD works with some of the most well-known brands and innovative manufacturers in the world. Our Office Supplies team is seeking a Manager, Client Development to work as a strategic partner with our premiere clients. This person will be responsible for building senior level relationships, providing analysis and value-added insights, delivering flawlessly and driving revenue through consultative selling.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver budgeted revenue growth for clients within the Office Supplies' Practice area.
  • Responsible for successful client contract negotiations
  • Become a trusted advisor with client contacts and an expert in client business initiatives and strategies
  • Develop insights of value to manufacturer clients as well as analyses in support of Industry Analyst content delivered to retailers, manufacturers and in the public domain through press releases and blog postings
  • Lead the process of developing account plans for strategic clients, and provide the leadership to meet the objectives of those plans
  • Provide recommendations to client leadership across functions, on matters such as promotional effectiveness, brand management, and merchandising
  • Stimulate innovation by sharing insights from inside and outside NPD
  • Navigate the NPD organization by collaborating with cross-functional colleagues to leverage their expertise while providing the customer perspective
  • Recognize important trends that will affect clients. Communicate those trends so clients can better prepare to meet new challenges
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of experience and track record of achieving revenue targets in consultative sales
  • Experience in sales, marketing, brand /product management or trade marketing in consumer products industry is helpful
  • Possess advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills with strong presentation experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in Retail Environment/Category Management
  • Strong client-facing background
