Job Description
The Office Work Experience Trainee is a temporary work experience position that provides the participant an opportunity to learn the basic tasks and skills of the position. Participants are placed at a variety of work sites and each experience is unique in skills attainment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Performs office duties in support of an assigned department or division; receives and directs telephone calls and visitors; provides information on department or division services and operations
  • Assists in managing the flow and preparation of paperwork.
  • Acts as a receptionist; answers the telephone and provides information on department policies and procedures
  • Maintains a variety of files and records in assigned department; files in accordance with establishing filing system.
  • Provides customer service, information, referrals and assistance to the general public and other departments
  • Collects, sorts, posts, adds, and modifies accurate data as necessary for tracking purposes into respective databases systems and/or processes.
  • Records and updates directories as needed
  • Orders, receives and organizes materials and supplies
  • Maintains, requests, and cancels vendors services as needed. Sorts and distributes internal and external correspondence
  • Precisely prepares and tracks outgoing mail

  • Other duties and special projects as assigned
  • Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision
  • This position is a temporary position.
  • This job has no supervisory responsibilities
  • No prior experience or training.
